Kick4life rules & code of conduct - open & coed

(UPDATED & EFFECTIVE 9/18/2023)

1. 7 players v 7 players (6 outfield players & 1 goalkeeper per team).
FOR COED - ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE AT LEAST two (2) FEMALES and TWO (2) MALES ON THE FIELD AT ALL TIMES, this includes gk position. (A) If a team fails to start the game with at least two females on the field, they will begin the game 2-0 down and must play with SIX (6) players until their female players can join them. If their female teammates never arrive, they will lose the game 3-0. (b) No team should reach out to their opponents asking them to play a female (or male) player down because they can't field a team. And similarly, no team should feel obliged to play a player down. If a team has all their players and the other team doesn't, then they will get the win, and can choose to play the game (as a friendly).
2. Squads may have up to 18 players. (if you need more, please contact us)
3. Games are 42 minutes in length. They will consist of twenty-one (21) minute halves and include three (3) minute rest at half-time. Games will kick-off on time and teams may be penalized if they fail to arrive on time for their game.
4. There is NO offside rule
5. NO SLIDE TACKLES AT ANY TIME. We encourage you to stay on your feet, this is a friendly but competitive league. Players are allowed to slide to stop a goal or the ball going out of play, but the slide must not endanger other people. The referee will decide what is a slide tackle and whether it is dangerous play...the referee's decision is final.
6. ALL free-kicks are direct unless the referee states otherwise. A wall is allowed but all opposing players must be 8 feet from the ball
7. Penalty-Kicks are taken 10 feet from goal (no wall allowed)
8. Goalkeepers:
- CAN slide in his/her own box ONLY, marked out by four cones. The referee will determine what is inside or outside the box
- MUST release the ball from their hands within six(6) seconds. Failure to do so will result in a free-kick to the opposing team from the edge of the area.
8a. The GKs area will be marked by four small cones. We ask that all GKs only handle the ball within this area. All decisions on what is inside or outside the box will be ultimately decided by the referee. THE REFEREE'S DECISION IS FINAL. If a GK handles the ball outside the area a free kick will be awarded and a yellow card may be given.

Players can not take more than one penalty kick unless sudden death goes on long enough to come back round to the first player
14. If a player is injured or bleeding they must leave the field of play until they are ready to come back on. The players uniform must be completely free of blood before entering the field of play again
